Our ballot will go live in late October, and we will give you four weeks to review the Bylaws and ask clarification questions or provide comments. Please send them to me at dianabcarlin@gmail.com. The Board reviewed each recommended change from the committee composed of Nichola Gutgold (chair), Myra Gutin, and Jody Natalle, and made and approved edits before submitting the recommendations to you. The Board is developing a companion document, Standing Rules, which will be available in early 2027. Now that we have five years of implementing the Bylaws, we recognize that the operational and practical aspects require specifics that should not be embedded in the Bylaws and should be easier to change. This includes items such as the length of term for the journal editor, the circumstances that would necessitate removing a board member or officer, and the process for doing so. Our Bylaws state that we operate under Robert's Rules of Order, and the Standing Rules would spell those out rather than adding content to the Bylaws. We will share those with you for comment when they are ready.
