Hooked On History: Unraveling Yarns About The First Ladies

If you knit or crochet or quilt and love learning about the first ladies, then you will be interested to find out that Edith Roosevelt cross-stitched a sample of Theodore Roosevelt’s life. Grace Coolidge crocheted the coverlet for the Lincoln bed in the White House. And whenever Eleanor Roosevelt was sitting, she was knitting. Join Debra Scala Giokas author of “Ladies, First: Common Threads” for a look at the handiwork of a dozen first ladies and learn about their inspiring stories of perseverance, service and sacrifice. She will be interviewed by Sharon Fawcett, retired Director of the Presidential Libraries of the National Archives and  Records Administration and a FLARE Lifetime Individual member.

The program is at 7 pm ET. To view the program go to: Flare’s Facebook page or  YouTube channel.
