First Lady Dr. Jill Biden to be the keynote speaker at the First Ladies Luncheon; FLARE's first national conference to follow

Dear FLARE members,

I am pleased to let you know that Dr. Jill Biden, First Lady of the United States, will be the keynote speaker during the annual First Ladies luncheon celebrating the 50^th anniversary of Betty Ford’s tenure as First Lady. The luncheon will be followed by FLARE's first national conference showcasing Former First Lady Ford’s leadership and commemorating her 1984 groundbreaking conference on First Ladies. 

Dr. Biden is continuing a tradition of First Ladies who have honored the leadership and contributions of Betty Ford through participating in the annual luncheon. Previous First Ladies to attend the annual lunch include Rosalynn Carter, Barbara Bush, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Laura Bush. It's also the first time a sitting First Lady has spoken at this event.

The luncheon is hosted by the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation in conjunction with FLARE and American University's School of Public Affairs. The conference is FLARE's first national conference in partnership with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum and American University’s School of Public Affairs.
