While President Grant is experiencing something of a surge in interest and renewed popularity, very little is mentioned of his devoted wife, Julia Dent Grant. Julia and Ulysses came from different backgrounds, often held differing opinions, yet maintained a close and loving marriage.  Who was Julia and how did she meet and eventually marry Grant? What were the early years of their marriage and family life like? Why did they both have strong sentimental attachments to a place near St. Louis called White Haven? Get the answers to these questions and others in this combination video tour and presentation by Julie Northrip, Interpretation, Education, and Volunteer Program Manager from the Ulysses S.
